In conjunction with the MFA in Film and Televisions, the program now offers a joint MFA in Screenwriting.

The program is the first creative writing MFA program to integrate virtual reality into its teaching. The program also offers a certificate in Latin American and Latinx Creative Studies.

Students attend six non-consecutive weekend residencies each semester at the Doheny Campus of Mount Saint Mary’s University in Los Angeles. The program also offers a fully online option.

The program is home to the Rush, an online literary magazine run by MFA students, and hosts visiting artists, a reading series, and an annual writing conference.
