Most students are offered an assistantship. Students can supplement their stipend by working at the library, writing center, or in other campus graduate assistantships that suit their talents.

Other Features:

The program hosts visiting poets and writers who have individual conferences with students each semester. It is one of the only programs that offers the possibility of a concurrent MA in English without additional hours or cost. There are editorial opportunities with the McNeese Review and Boudin. Writing program faculty and graduate English faculty are accessible and enjoy working closely with students. The program is a tightknit and supportive community of writers.
