The ninth annual Taos Writers Conference will be held from July 25 to July 27 at Society of the Muse of the Southwest, a literary organization in Taos, New Mexico. The conference features workshops for poets, fiction writers, creative nonfiction writers, and writers working in hybrid genres, as well as critique sessions, faculty readings, and roundtable discussions with authors on publishing. The faculty includes poets Aaron Abeyta, Holly Day, Veronica Golos, and Kyle Laws; fiction and nonfiction writers Sallie Bingham, E.J. Levy, Susan Mihalic, Jean-Marie Saporito, Sharon Oard Warner, and Naomi Wax; and memoirists Allegra Huston and Connie Josefs. Poet and memoirist Nick Flynn will deliver the keynote address. The full cost of the conference is $499 with registration before June 28 and $569 with registration between June 28 and July 24. Weekend workshops are $335 before June 28 and $385 thereafter. Friday intensive craft workshops, which include generative writing exercises, are $175 before June 28 and $199 thereafter. There is no registration fee. Visit the website for more information.
