Gell Writing Residency

The Gell Writing Residency, sponsored by Writers & Books, offers one- to three-week residencies year-round to poets, fiction writers, creative nonfiction writers, and translators at Gell: A Finger Lakes Creative Retreat in Naples, New York, situated on 24 acres in the Bristol Mountain foothills. Residents are provided with a renovated cottage with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a modern kitchen, a spacious living and dining area with a writing nook, and an outdoor deck. Lodging costs $475 for a single residency and $808 for a double residency for one week, $855 for a single residency and $1,454 for a double residency for two weeks, and $1,211 for a single residency and $1,938 for a double residency for three weeks. To apply, submit 6 to 12 pages of poetry or 10 to 15 pages of prose, a personal statement, and contact information for two references with a $20 entry fee.
